Tender description

Scottish Borders Council (SBC) has committed to the delivery of a new Business Centre in Hawick to replace the abandoned former Almstrong department store. The site covers 10 -12 Oliver Crescent and 4 – 5 Teviot Crescent, Hawick. As a consequence of this development the opportunity has also been taken to remove the neglected buildings on the site that have become an eyesore, and also to provide a landmark building that will generate local interest and aid commercial regeneration in the area. The Hawick Business Centre project will deliver a new office development which will operate as incubator offices for small businesses in the area and will provide a landmark building that will generate local interest and aid commercial regeneration. This tender is to appoint a main contractor to carry out and complete the construction of the building.
