<p>North Area Council would like to work with the Voluntary and Community Sector to address social isolation and loneliness across the North Area. We intend to fund a programme of projects enabling an integrated approach that will enable people to be more independent and build stronger connections within their community. Aims and Objectives of the Connecting Communities Grant Fund: • Reduce loneliness and isolation • Increase the confidence of individuals • Improve the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals • Re-connect communities The service will be aimed at lonely and/or isolated people and potentially where social isolation and loneliness has been exacerbated as a result of Covid-19. It is anticipated that a significant proportion of the clients accessing grant funded provision will be older people over 50 years; adults living with long term health conditions and their carers. The North Area Council are holding a (virtual) market engagement event in order to co-produce the final framework for the challenge fund and to give more information about the financial envelope, outcomes and timescales involved.
