As part of the European Commission’s annual call seeking applications for EU co-funding support for the promotion of agricultural products, Bord Bia submitted a proposal for a three year “Mix it up with Sustainable Mushrooms from Europe” campaign in May 2021. Subject to approval, this €3.0m (incl VAT) promotion campaign will be run in the UK and will be an information and advertising campaign targeting consumers in the UK. Sustainability is an important issue for consumers, and the campaign will highlight the sustainable credentials of Irish Mushrooms. If the above application is successful, Bord Bia will seek to appoint an Implementing Body to assist in the delivery of this campaign over the period 2022-2024. Promotional initiatives will include digital advertising, public relations, social media, and website and search engine optimisation It is expected that DG Agri/ EA (Research Executive Agency will announce its decision on successful applications in October 2021.
