Lot 1: This is a Prior Information Notice (PIN) only and not a call for competition or an invitation to tender. This PIN is part of the market research process to determine the capacity of potential service providers to deliver the services as required. The Irish Coast Guard (IRCG), a Division of the Department of Transport, anticipate an upcoming RFT for a Marine Communications System (MCS) for use at its Marine Rescue Coordination Centre’s (MRCC/SC). The Irish Coast Guard has a requirement for the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of the Marine Voice Communication Systems for Dublin MRCC, Valentia MRSC and Malin MRSC. The new system will remotely control marine band VHF radios, VHF DSC (Digital Selective Calling) radios, MF DSC radios and NavTex (Navigational Telex). The new system must be capable of processing ship-to-shore telephone link calls. The recording system is also being replaced, this must be compatible with the new MCS and will capture all events. Additionally there is a requirement to replace the nationwide remote site VHF DSC radio equipment, integrate this and the current MF DSC system to the new MCS in order to provide VHF & MF DSC receive and transmit ability to the operators. There is potential to investigate the feasibility to replace the MRCC/SC operator desks while system upgrades are occurring. Currently eighteen desks in operation. This potential reconfiguration would require the contractor to supply, package, deliver and install eighteen workstations with electronically height-adjustable desks. Suppliers can register their expressions of interest in this PIN by sending their contact details to the eTenders message board. Replacement of the Marine Voice Communication System.
