Tender description

The scope for this package is the supply of 571 no. precast reinforced-concrete noise barrier panels, which will form part of the noise barrier structure to be constructed along the north and south sides of the High Speed Two (HS2) trace at the West Ruislip retained embankment and the Gatemead embankment. The noise barrier structure will also be constructed across the River Pinn Underbridge (RPU) and the Breakspear Road Underbridge (BRSU) structures. The breakdown of the required number of precast reinforced-concrete noise barrier panels is as follows: - Noise Barrier South Standard Panels: 248 no. c.5.60m-high precast reinforced-concrete noise barrier panels, with a c.30.60 deg. cranked edge commencing at roughly 2.30m high. Lengths are between 2.70m and 3.78m. - Noise Barrier South Transition Zone Panels: 16 no. precast reinforced-concrete noise barrier panels, again with a cranked edge. Heights are between 6.19m and 6.37m, with lengths between 2.95m and 2.99m. - Noise Barrier South Bridge Panels: 18 no. straight precast reinforced-concrete noise barrier panels (no cranked edge). Heights are between 5.73m and 7.00m, with lengths between 1.50m and 3.22m. - Noise Barrier North Standard Panels: 253 no. c.3.10m-high straight precast reinforced-concrete noise barrier panels (no cranked edge). Lengths are between 2.59m and 3.04m. - Noise Barrier North Transition Zone Panels: 18 no. straight precast reinforced-concrete noise barrier panels (no cranked edge). Heights are between 3.46m and 3.60m, with lengths between 2.97m and 3.00m. - Noise Barrier North Bridge Panels: 18 no. straight precast reinforced-concrete noise barrier panels (no cranked edge). Heights are between 3.23m and 4.50m, with lengths between 1.50m and 3.22m. The attached drawing provides a visual representation of the proposed noise barrier structure. The goods are to include lifting points (hooks/eyes/etc.) and tie-in points for temporary works purposes. The services are: - production of shop drawings, - design of the lifting and tie-in points, - creation of the necessary moulds, - fabrication/casting of the required precast reinforced-concrete noise barrier panels, and - delivery to SCS JV's site and SCS JV's testing subcontractor's facilities (location TBC). There may also be a requirement for storage space, depending upon the proposals for the noise barrier panels to be delivered on a just-in-time basis.
