Uplands Development - Provision of Public Consultation Services in Connection with the Master Plan

The new proposed housing development at Uplands, near Botley, Hampshire, will consist of housing, a school, new roads, rerouted public rights of way, landscaping, the creation of amenity areas and service diversions. The successful implementation of such a complex scheme requires skilled public consultation and stakeholder engagement, together with good public relations management to ensure that all interested parties are committed to the agreed overall master plan and the successful implementation of same. Grasshopper Communications were were originally appointed through Arup on the HCA framework, however this framework has expired and HCC require the balance of the services to be completed via a direct appointment. The services to be provided by Grasshopper consist of continuing the liaison between all the parties involved to ensure a successful outcome in respect of the master plan. It is not feasible to tender this award to other suppliers who would be disadvantaged by lacking the background knowledge to complete the service required.
