Tender description

The successful candidate should demonstrate experience and detailed knowledge of design, implementation and operation of smart metering, smart grid or equivalent major programmes; and have a track record of successful advisory and consultancy services across a range of separately delivered projects in the context of large programmes comparable to the SMART Metering Programme. The successful candidate should demonstrate experience and detailed knowledge of design, implementation and operation of smart metering, smart grid or equivalent major programmes; and have a track record of successful advisory and consultancy services across a range of separately delivered projects in the context of large programmes comparable to the SMART Metering Programme. The scope of the consultancy and advisory role for which we intend to invite expressions of interest for will include but will not be limited to the requirements stated below. It is expected that the total indicative scale of resources for this role will be up to 25 full-time subject matter experts over the initial period of the framework. The successful candidate shall deliver on each and all of the following areas: • assist in leading the Development of an ongoing ESB Networks Business Smart Metering Operating Model Architecture and in the creation of the ESBN AMI and Smart Grid Business and Technical Strategy; • provide advice on Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Smart Grid Industry intelligence; • recommend, contribute, develop, advise and collaborate on the AMI and Smart Grid High Level Technical Solution Architecture and Design, including Utility WAN and in-home channels; • recommend and advise on Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Smart Grid procurement. The successful candidate shall recommend, contribute, collaborate, develop and advise in each and all of the following specific areas of AMI and Smart Grid: • solution strategy, design integration and assurance; • AMI IT and OT Design; • AMI Communications and Metering Design; • AMI and Smart Grid Business and Technical Architecture; • AMI and Smart Grid Data Reporting and Analytics; • End-to-end AMI and Smart Grid integrated design specification; • interoperability approach; • specification creation; • data model development; • IT and OT Security; • data architecture and privacy; • review of functional and technical specifications and other documents; • AMI procurement; • change management and business transformation; • other services as requested related to AMI and Smart Grid Programmes.
