The Provision of Servicing and Maintenance of Malmberg Biogas Upgrading Plants (BUPs)

Severn Trent Water (STW) currently have x2 Malmberg Biomethane Upgrading Plants (BUP's) in operation at the Minworth & Strongford Sewage Treatment Works, which purify the gas produced to ensure it meets with the UK GSMR specification before it is injected into the grid. STW has an obligation to ensure that the BUP's are serviced, maintained and operate at maximum efficiency with minimal downtime. STW would therefore like to tender out this requirement to a suitable bidder with a 4-year contract term being proposed, enabling STW to secure a competent servicing provide. The scope of works includes the routine and ad-hoc maintenance and breakdown repairs of the Bio-methane Upgrading Plant (BUP) which are designed, supplied and previously maintained by Malmberg AB. The full summary is below: Scope of services summary: • 24/7 Help-desk support. • Remote system access • Monthly process reports • Routine servicing & maintenance (major service) • Reactive support. With regards to the servicing element, Severn Trent Water would like to conduct the minor servicing in-house going forward, therefore the main requirement as part of the servicing element of the contract will be for the major service to be conducted by the successful supplier. However, STW would still like to purchase the minor service kits to be able to conduct the minor servicing in-house. Therefore, this has also been built into the tender requirement.
