Rough Burn Riparian Planting, Fencing & Instream works

Tender description

Consists of planting circa 700 trees (consisting of and equal mix of alder, willow, silver birch and rowan) in a 5m riparian buffer zone from the river’s edge with an erection of approximately 1,730m galvanised wire fence on both banks of the rough Burn with an installation of 10 unigates, 9 stiles, 14 80 gallon twin reservoir drinking troughs with 5 solar powered pump. A 12ft steel gate will also be installed to allow farm machinery access, the gate size will be based on contractor recommendation. There will also be gravel cleaning at one location which has been compacted with silt and installation of soft engineering measures using brushwood fascine at one location which has been impacted by livestock poaching. The soft engineering will address an area of 24m2 x 1m. Bush trimming will also be carried out at several locations. Works primarily conducted on the North Western banks of the Rough Burn as well as a portion of the main Finn River, although a smaller area on the South Eastern bank of the river and along the main Finn River will also be targeted. These works will take place between these coordinates 209285E 396046N and 208721E 395275N (Irish Grid Reference). The works along the River Finn will take place between these coordinates 209041E 396206N and 209541E 396015N (Irish Grid Reference).
