Whilst it is recognised that achievement of these may go beyond the contract period, responses should demonstrate how activity will work towards the specific goals of: • Great South West secures formal recognition and an identified Minister to link into Government • The asks within the GSW prospectus are realised. The Great South West is supported by an APPG a key part of the service will be to support running of the APPG including agreeing impactful agendas and speakers, liaising with the Chairs (currently Sir Gary Streeter MP and Ben Bradshaw MP) and other attending MPs, following up actions as appropriate. There are 3-4 APPGs per year. Contractors are required to work within the legislative framework of the Lobbying Act 2014 http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2014/4/notes/contents. Contractors are required to be sensitive to the government, media and public perception against overt “lobbying” and act accordingly to enable the LEP to justify engagement support in a transparent way. The Contractor will be required to provide a round-up of activity following each visit/meeting within a week of it taking place. We ask for a short note on who was met, what was asked of the LEP, what the LEP asked them and what reaction they got; any anecdotal observations and clear follow up requirements that the LEP can carry out. On a quarterly basis, the contractor is required to present an evaluation of activity to the LEP Communications Manager with the following measures: • Availability and flexibility to respond to requests • Quantified hours/days spent • Details of visits and meetings • Itemised expenses for travel, accommodation etc. • Number of visits • Tangible policy outcomes – details to be provided with outline of activity that influenced decisions.
