Replacement Boilers and Mechanical Equipment: Fews/Kallar Lodge

Award of Contract for: The project is to include the replacement of the existing heating boiler plant and associated mechanical equipment. Fews Lodge and Kallar Lodge are supplied by a single boiler plant and pipe distribution system. This project includes the removal of the existing boiler plant and associated equipment. The new heating and hot water provision shall be separate for each facility (Fews Lodge and Kallar Lodge) and shall be located within the existing plant room. By-pass pipework shall be included within the new design to enable heating provision to either facility in the event of boiler failure. The by-pass will be isolated during normal operation of the plant. The contractor is to include for separation of the existing heating and hot water distribution pipework to physically separate the provision for each facility. Each of the new boiler plant and equipment shall be capable of providing heating and hot water services to all existing areas of the building. The contractor is to separate the existing gas supply to the boiler room to enable metering to each facility.
