21051 Cambs CC - Minor Works Framework Covering Building Fabric and Mechanical & Electrical Work Soft Market Test

Tender description

Cambridgeshire County Council currently utilises a framework of building contractors to undertake "minor works" across the estate, including corporate offices, day centres, children centres and primary schools. The Council is assessing the need to re-procure the framework and are seeking input from the market on options in regards to the intended lot structure on how the new framework may look and work. This Framework is the primary route for undertaking small to medium scale (in terms of price) building works across the Councils building estate (up to, and around the £1m mark). The framework (please see below for Lot Structure) is currently made up of 12 contractors across 3 lots which covers builders work of all varieties. Each lot is based on a pricing band, schemes are sent to a lot based on expected cost of the work. Schemes are generally sent out as a designed scheme, and contractors are expected to price on a traditional basis, sometimes with an element of contractors design. This framework however is not a design and build framework. The Council is looking to re-procure the framework in a similar fashion to that described above and is seeking market input in to how the framework is shaped for the next 3-4 years.
