Seaman Tower roof renewal

Tender description

Due to the poor existing condition of the main flat roof areas on Seaman Tower, the flat roof requires complete renewal. An Eastern procurement Ltd (EPL) roofing works framework was identified to provide the works. As a member of EPL, the council benefits from the lower rates achieved from bulk discount achieved by grouping the work required by all its members. EPL carried out a mini-competition exercise between the four suppliers on the framework and the award was made to the supplier who were rated the best for value for money and were able to provide the required works. The award was approved in late October 2020 but the project was put on hold due to a period of Leaseholder consultation. The project was further delayed late 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The project was taken off hold and the Leasehold consultation was completed 28 May 2021.
