Summary of the work We’re looking for a product manager to join us to work on the roadmap and alpha for the training and support offering for the leadership and teams/squads the Centre support within the Welsh Public Sector. Specialist role Product manager Expected Contract Length 6 months with the option of a 25% extension (6 weeks) Latest start date Monday 28 June 2021 Maximum Day Rate £700 inclusive of travel expenses if travel becomes required Who Speclialist Work With You’ll be supporting the Head of Digital Skills and Capability and you will be responsible for the development of our skills and capability roadmap, service and product development. What Specialists Work On As Product Manager you’ll: Provide direction & leadership for multidisciplinary agile product teams Define, explain and iterate a product vision that's compelling to users, team, stakeholders Develop and prioritise a product backlog, writing good user stories, making decisions based on evidence Own, be responsible for developing and articulating a clear vision, achievable goals and measurable objectives, which are aligned to the goals and objectives for building digital skills and capability Lead engagement with stakeholders, users and partner organisations, by running demos, blogging, facilitating workshops Coaching, mentoring CDPS team and stakeholders to help them understand the value of product management Skills & Experience • Demonstrable experience leading teams/products through discovery, alpha, beta and live phases • Recent evidence of creating and developing product strategies • Demonstrable evidence of deep agile understanding and experience • Evidence that you have a thorough understanding of a variety of disciplines involved in digital delivery, including engineering, service-design, performance analysis and user research developed through working in multidisciplinary teams • Recent evidence of engagement with stakeholders with varying levels of understanding of user centred design and agile • Demonstrable evidence of managing complex stakeholder situations • Recent evidence of coaching and identifying learning opportunities Nice to Haves • Professional-level fluency in Welsh language • Demonstrable experience of working in the Welsh Public Sector • Experience or interested in learning and development Work Location Working remotely Working Arrangments We expect this work will be done remotely for the foreseeable future. Should official guidance change during the duration of this engagement, you may be expected to attend meetings across Wales.
