Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Replacement: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Implementation Services Replacement of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 for Finance, Procurement, Project management, accounting and Resource planning The Manufacturing Technology Centre is seeking expressions of interest in respect of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Replacement: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Implementation Services. The current provision at the MTC is Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 which is coming to end of service. The intent is to replace with Microsoft Dynamics 365. A discovery process is being carried out in parallel with the requirements of this PIN. The aim of this project is to build and implement Dynamics 365 solution based on the blueprint from the aforementioned process. It is expected that a Dynamics 365 platform is going to be built as a baseline for future development and integration according to business needs. The current ERP solution (Dynamics AX 2012 R3 integrated with Project Server) covers the areas listed below: Core Financials: General ledger Accounts payable, including invoice processing automation and OCR Accounts receivable Budgeting / Cost budgeting Month end management Allocation rules Making Tax digital at group / multi-company level Multi-currency management Multi-company management (including shared internal services) Procurement process Fixed assets Project management, accounting, planning and resourcing Project cost capture (expense, labour, item) Project Profit and Loss reporting Project budgeting Invoicing Revenue recognition Financial and project lifecycle reporting Graphical project planning Milestone, task definition Resource management and assignment Forecasting of labour and material spend Billing structures, contract management Operational reporting Bare minimum HR data enabling seamless completion of timesheets Security User management (fed from AD) Effective role assignments (Segregation of duties in mind) It is expected that Dynamics 365 implementation will provide at least like-for-like functionality as well as resilient platform, which could be expanded further, reaping benefits of a modern ERP tool. MTC also uses Dynamics Sales, Dynamics 365 Marketing, and PowerBI. Further integration and consolidation of the platforms is anticipated following the initial implementation MTC is a £100m turnover business, employing ~800 staff, of which 104 are core users with full access, 462 are team users and at least 70 project users. As MTC grows, these numbers are expected to increase at a steady rate. Latter facts provide an indication of this project’s significance and potential impact to the business. It is anticipated that a Contract Notice and all applicable tendering materials will be published approx. 15th July 2021 . Lot 1: The purpose of this PIN is to commence market engagement and gather expressions of interest in advance of the tender documents and contract notice being published. The aim of this PIN is to reduce the actual tendering period for this opportunity, which will be no less than 15 calendar days.
