Crawley Borough Council - Schools-Based Active Travel Neighbourhood Programme

Tender description

Crawley Borough Council (the Council) invites tenders for the delivery of a schools-based active travel neighbourhood programme, as described in the Specification and associated documents. This is a two year programme, commencing September 2021, building on the 'Bike It' Schools programme which has been run successfully in Crawley for nine years. The programme aims to increase active travel to school and improve safe and healthy access and reduce demand for car use within Crawley's neighbourhoods. Suppliers will be required to o to develop school-based activities which raise awareness of transport-related issues, encourage walking, scooting and cycling and increase the proportion of children using active travel modes to get to school; to engage and raise awareness and participation within the schools' neighbourhood resident (and, where appropriate, business) community, whether as part of school's activity or separately; and to identify and help implement measures that will prioritise walking and cycling by parents, school staff and other community members in the school's Neighbourhood, in preference to car use.
