Tender description

Plumbridge Park and MUGA site and the Glenelly GFC site are located on the outskirts of Plumbridge, to the south west of the village along the Dergborough Road. The project is the provision of safe pedestrian access from the existing footpath at the entrance to the Glenelly GFC site, on the Dergborough Road, through to the Plumbridge Park, and MUGA site where the Jack and Jill playgroup is also located. The new pedestrian route will either be delineated by means of road markings, where existing concrete surfaces exist, or through the construction of new footpaths running through both sites. The works will comprise but are not exclusive to; Glenelly GFC Site:  Provision of white lining on existing concrete surfaces to delineate pedestrian zones and define vehicular traffic and parking arrangements.  Widening of existing 1.0m concrete pitch skirting to form 3.0m overall pedestrian zone.  Provision of 3.0m concrete path across waste ground/field to link with Plumbridge Park site.  Cutting back of vegetation and removal of trees and hedges on boundary to facilitate new path and access between sites.  Provision of ducting and draw cords for future lighting installation. Plumbridge Park Site:  Provision of new concrete path, varying widths, from existing path adjacent to MUGA to Glenelly GFC site via existing waste ground and through rear area of Jack and Jill Nursery site.  Adaption of existing fences, chain-link and powder coated box section with mesh infill, to accord with line of path.  Provision of new powder coated box section with mesh infill fencing, to match existing, along exposed edges of new path to include gates into adjoining lands. Primary site access will be via the entrance to the Glenelly GFC site off the Dergborough Road and a contractor’s compound can be erected on the existing compacted hardstanding to the south of the playing field. Contractor’s access to the Plumbridge Park site to be created from the GFC site as part of the ongoing works. A secondary access is available via Plumbridge Park however, in maintaining public access to facilities on this site, this will be restricted. The facilities within Plumbridge Park, including the carpark, MUGA, play park and the Jack and Jill Nursery, will remain operational for the duration of the of the contract and safe access to these facilities must be maintained at all times. The Glenelly GFC site will be operational throughout the works however training and matches are generally restricted to weekends and evenings. Safe access to the club/changing rooms and pitch are to be maintained at all times. Tenderers are strongly advised to visit and inspect the existing site to identify current condition and any constraints associated with the site and environs, prior to the submission of their tenders, so they are familiar with the nature and extent of the work necessary to comply with the requirements of the tender. Existing site information is provided as follows:  Topographical Site Survey Please note that Derry City and Strabane District Council does not accept liability for the content of and any omissions therein of any existing documentation supplied to the tenderer. The tenderers and the appointed contractor must ensure that all surveys, investigations and any other material supplied by Derry City and Strabane District Council is of an adequate quality and standard to the satisfaction of tenderers and the appointed contractor to carry out the necessary work. It is the responsibility of the tenderers and the appointed contractor to identify any omissions or sub-standard work and carry out or commission this work again and/or any additional work they deem necessary to complete their design, fabrication, supply and construction of the proposed new works.
