Pilot Training Course in Water Conservation and Protection (Dublin Communities Caring for Water)

Fingal LEADER Partnership CLG (FLP) is seeking suitable, qualified specialist(s) to provide a pilot Training Course in Water-Conservation and Protection (Dublin Communities Caring for Water) to community/voluntary groups and individuals in County Dublin (three of the four Dublin Local Authority areas comprising FLP’s area of operations: Fingal, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown & South County Dublin). The trainer will organise the training and, in partnership with the Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) Community Water Officer, identify and enrol potential participants for the course. FLP has an extensive network of community contacts in our area of operations, and we will promote this training programme to our databases and on social media. We plan to offer this training in ten locations/ communities across County Dublin as follows: 1. Locations/ communities from the Fingal area. 2. Locations/ communities from the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown/ South County Dublin area. It is anticipated that five people will be trained in each community. Please see Table 1 for Proposed Training Programme Schedule, which outlines proposed number of classroom and practical sessions. The training programme is aimed at community/voluntary groups including tidy towns groups, community groups, farmers, angling and environmental groups who have an interest in water conservation. It is proposed that the training programme will be delivered autumn/winter 2021 into spring/summer 2022 in a post-COVID-19 setting.
