(NU/1669) Researching and Identifying the Dental Skills Training Needs for the School of Dental Sciences

<p>Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a legal requirement for Dental Professionals in order to practise in the United Kingdom. The legislation around CPD conformity is regulated by the General Dental Council (GDC). A failure to comply will result in the individual being unable to practise dentistry in the UK. We are looking for a supplier to research and identify the Dental skills training needs.</p> <p>The requirement is in two parts:- 1) The School of Dental Sciences requires research and information gathering from at least 20 General Dental Practices in the country. This is to identify future dental training needs of staff within General Dental Practices and Salaried dental settings, particularly:-</p> <p>- Dentists (specifically general dental practitioners) - Dental Therapists/Hygienists - Dental Nurses</p> <p>2) As a result of any skills needs identified from this research, the School of Dental Sciences requires the successful bidding organisation to answer: - Do practitioners wish to study in order to just comply with the GDC CPD requirements? - Would practitioners like to just study practical skills? - Would practitioners prefer to &lsquo;build&rsquo; a postgraduate qualification from having taken smaller, bitesized modules? - Are there any topics that practitioners would like to study? - Are there certain ways practitioners would like to study e.g. online only / practical only / mix</p> Keywords: dental sciences, market research, training needs
