Tender description

<p>The Authority has been successful with a Heritage Lottery bid for the Hull: Yorkshire&rsquo;s Maritime City (HYMC) project. Hull: Yorkshire&rsquo;s Maritime City project encompasses the creation of a Maritime Visitor orientation centre at the vacant North End Shipyard, river Hull, located at High Street, Hull, close to Hull city centre. The North End Shipyard will also be the location for the restored trawler, The Arctic Corsair. The North End Shipyard (NESY) will provide a permanent home to the Arctic Corsair, the last of the deep water sidewinder trawlers. The works to the dry dock, dock gates and berthing of the ship will be delivered by others and will not form part of this contract. However these work packages will require close and critical coordination and cooperation with the successful contractor this procurement package. To enable the full story of the Arctic Corsair and the maritime history of Hull to be fully interpreted and told, this procurement will deliver the following:- &bull; A new visitor orientation building will be constructed. The new building will manage the physical access to the ship as well as providing a reception facility, educational spaces and gallery. &bull; Walkway connections to the ship once dry docking is completed. &bull; The new building will be constructed to Passivhaus Certified standards &bull; A welcoming external area which will provide a space for visitors to observe the ship and the riverfront</p> Keywords: Construction of Buildings, Energy Efficient Construction Methods, Museum Construction, Landscaping, Public Building Construction, Visitor Building Construction
