Tender description

Brent Council wishes to conduct soft market engagement with relevant service providers in relation to its Waste Collections, Streets Cleansing and Winter Maintenance (i.e. salt gritting) arrangements from 1 April 2023 onwards, when the Council’s existing contract for these services is due to end.

In particular, the Council wishes to engage in discussions with service providers on the potential strategic and operational implications of the Government’s Environment Bill, which will be enacted in 2023, and the potential solutions that the market could offer. The Council would also use this engagement to explore potential specification changes that it is considering for these services, and matters associated with the procurement options and length of any future arrangements.

We would welcome expressions of interest from service providers interested in meeting with the Council between 17 May and 11 June (dates for an online meeting to be agreed through correspondence between the Council and individual service providers).

The engagement will support the development of future service delivery and provide an opportunity for service providers to contribute to the service design process. Please note that this notice / meeting does not commit the Council to any future competition or award, and that the Council is still considering the appropriate delivery model for the future. Service providers interested in attending an online meeting with the Council on these topics must register their interest by submitting a completed ‘expression of interest’ form using the messaging system of the online portal no later than 12:00 (Noon) on Friday 14 May 2021. Providers are also asked to complete the questionnaire attached with the form and to submit through the portal by the same deadline.
Keywords: Street cleansing, Waste collections, Winter maintenance
