Tender description

Developing Restorative Justice & Mediation Services for Victims of Crime and Criminal Justice Responses for the period 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022 with an option to extend for 6 months under the Light Touch Regime. Restorative Justice Services are detailed as a 'core service' within the grant agreement between the Ministry of Justice and the PCC for the provision of grant funding in relation to local commissioning of victims' support services (including restorative justice services) A restorative justice and mediation service for victims of crime in the Cheshire Constabulary policing area. Provision of a solution incorporating a victim lead restorative practices approach including facilitation, and mediation services in a multi-agency setting for those in the Cheshire constabulary policing area who have been victims of crime. This service will incorporate; • A victim lead RJ and mediation service • A multi-agency and contact coordination service for referrals • Delivery of training and awareness raising to public and partners, including the Voluntary & community Sector (VCS) The requirements include but are not restricted to the following; • To provide a seamless coordination service to partners and service users • To have appropriately trained and experienced staff in place for restorative practices (such as face to face conferences) and mediation services • To have safe practices with an effective risk assessment to protect the victim • To increase public awareness and wider understanding of RJ in prevention, early intervention as well as within the criminal justice system • Provide a diverse and localised to meet the needs of victims in line with the Equality Act 2010 • To build and strengthen capability to deliver RJ within Cheshire's statutory, voluntary and private sectors, including schools and academies • To build and strengthen capability to deliver RJ & Mediation within Cheshire Constabulary local policing teams.
