Looked After Children Nursing Services

Tender description

The Funding for the period 01 April 2021 to 31 March 2023 is the Council’s contribution to the Specialist and Targeted Children and Young Peoples Community Health Service which is commissioned by NHS Kernow. The services commissioned by NHS Kernow include a dedicated Looked After Children’s Nursing Services. The Councils contribution equates to 3.4 WTE nurses of which at least 0.8 WTE is Band 7, the remainder being Band 6. The service provides nursing to looked after children (LAC) who are registered with a GP in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and includes carrying out statutory LAC reviews, assessments and reports and the majority of the implementation of individual plans. The service is required to improve performance, quality and service provision and to ensure that Looked After Children receive the health support that they require. NHS Kernow is required to provide the Council with service performance data for contract monitoring. This data will be provided quarterly and will detail the service provided including: • Service activity: number of looked after children supported by the service; number of contacts made per quarter; types of activity delivered. • Number of staff in post along with their grades; agency/bank hours purchased • Analysis of needs identified in Looked After Children to inform current and future service delivery • Assessment of outcomes achieved for Looked After Children • Provide assurances of supervision in place to ensure a safe and quality service • Provide a safeguarding report that outlines any key safeguarding concerns and issues.
