Water-treatment chemicals

Tender description

The successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver their allocated chemicals to various site locations within Scottish Water’s operational areas. Scottish Water’s requirement will cover water treatment and wastewater treatment will be utilised for a number of purposes including; coagulation, flocculation, PH adjustment, disinfectant, odour control, ammonia reduction and plumbosolvency management. The chemicals required must be supplied in 1 000 L IBC’s, pressure bins, drums, bulk deliveries or packed goods. Estimated annual usage per chemical is attached in the supporting documents of the PQQ. There is no guarantee given on these volumes. Chemicals required through the framework include: ammonium sulphate, caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, mono sodium phosphate, poly-aluminium chloride, sodium carbonate, sodium hypochlorite, sulphuric acid, citric acid, sodium bisulphite, polyelectrolytes, ferric sulphate, osec salt, aluminium sulphate and odour control chemicals. The scope of the framework is for the supply and delivery of chemicals. Chemicals required through the framework include but are not limited to: ammonium sulphate, caustic soda (sodium hydroxide), hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, mono sodium phosphate (msp), poly-aluminium chloride (pac), sodium carbonate, sodium hypochlorite, sulphuric acid, citric acid, sodium bisulphite, polyelectrolytes, ferric sulphate, osec salt, aluminium sulphate and odour control chemicals (see performance specification). Scottish Water will look to optimise the number of suppliers to give best value but reserves the right to appoint a single source supplier if deemed best value. Where possible, the framework will include at least 2 suppliers capable of supplying each chemical, even if one of these suppliers is not routinely used. The chemicals used by Scottish Water are subject to change over the life of the contract, due to innovations in the marketplace that will be reviewed periodically. All framework suppliers awarded on this framework will be permitted to supply any of the requirements in the event that the awarded suppliers are unable to sustain their commitments or where beneficial innovations are successfully trialled.
