Tender description

Ballinakill Community Development Association have received funding under Town & Village Renewal Programme for the installation of an air-water heat pump at Ballinakill outdoor Swimming Pool. The installation of the heat pump will contribute to energy and C02 emission reduction targets. The installation works for the heat pump installations is covered under a single contract and all works relating to the installation will be completed by the 20th April 2020. It is noted that there is a tight time line to avail of this grant and the appointed contractor will have to comply with this time line. Payments of 95% of the tender sum will be paid in the month following the completion of the given works and 5% retention will be with held for 12 months after the tender date. The appointed contractor will enter into a contract directly with BCDC and will have responsibility for all mechanical services work, electrical services work, builders work and health and safety for the given works. The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of health and safety in regards to the heat pump installation. Ongoing access to the swimming pool will be will facilitated during the month of April including Saturdays and Sundays. Please note that the facility will open to the public for the season on May 1st 2020. The appointed contractor shall provide PSCS for aspects of the upgrade works relating to the heating system upgrades and associated works. A completed Health and Safety questionnaire must be completed and associated documents must be submitted with the tender documents. This is a pass/ fail criteria. A copy of insurances, method statements and health and safety plans are to be provided to BCDC prior to commencement of works. The efficiency of the heat pumps is to meet an “A+++ at 55oC” certified performance. Proof of this certification is to be provided prior to the heat pump installation to BCDC.
