Air Compressor Upgrade

CPIs National Biologics Manufacturing Centre (NBMC) in Darlington, Co. Durham is a state-of-the-art facility which provides open access and expertise to help companies develop, prove and commercialise new processes and technologies for the manufacture of biologics. An oil-fee air compressor unit in the CPI Darlington NBMC Facility generates CDA (Clean Dry Air) as a validated system for both instrument and process air supplies to the facility and this system is to be upgraded under this tender. The existing CDA compressor is a fixed speed unit, and the upgrade will involve install of a new variable speed CDA compressor in the facility ground floor plant room (which can then operate at half the maximum duty) as the primary unit for routine operation, with the existing fixed speed unit to become a backup. Validation, monitoring and heat recovery are to be included as part of the upgrade package.
