Tender description

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council invites applications from suitably experienced operators for admission to their dynamic purchasing system (DPS) for the provision of school bus or coach transport. The DPS will be divided into 3 lots — School Bus Routes, Primary Schools Swimming Transport and Ad-hoc School Transport. Potential providers can apply for inclusion on individual lots or all 3 lots. Once set up the period of validity of the DPS will be for 5 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years (2 x 12 months). The required vehicle size for this contract is 9 seats or more. Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is looking to set up a dynamic purchasing system (DPS) to appoint providers that will able deliver school bus or coach transport within the borough and outside the borough if required. This includes on lot 3 the provision of vehicles which could be a bus or a coach including drivers and escorts (if required) for journeys arranged at reasonable notice by the schools to and from schools to an agreed destination. These journeys will be ad-hoc in nature and may take place at anytime including in or out of term time. This lot will be open for use by other educational establishments including but not limited to schools, academies, colleges and other Council functions and their partners. Access to the DPS will be on a qualitative basis and the journeys will be awarded on the basis of costs. For any new requirements, all successful tenderers for lot 3 that have been included on the DPS will be invited to bid.
