The Reality Emulator is composed of four equipment sub systems, integrated through an integration, management and monitoring layer: - Immersive Sub System: provides interactive multi-user virtual and augmented reality experiences. - Data Sub System: ingests and outputs media and data feeds, performs batch and real-time data processing, supplies, and stores archived data. - Compute Sub System: executes models of real-world phenomena on a mixture of CPU, GPU and programmable hardware. - Network Sub System: a programmable substrate for communications within the RE on the University of Bristol sites and to and from remote hubs and mobile devices. There will also be a Management and Monitoring and Integration Sub System & integration partner: the unified integration of all Sub Systems that constitute the Reality Emulator enabling a single 'pane of glass' for monitoring and managing the RE as a whole Service.
