Summary of the work Continuation of the IT infrastructure programme. The portfolio includes projects across cloud migration and data centres, access and monitoring and connectivity. Expected Contract Length 3 months Latest start date Monday 1 February 2021 Why the Work is Being Done The IT infrastructure required a number of improvements to enable the Council's digital ambitions. The programme has been planned and work is underway. A team is required to complete the projects and hand over to the business as usual teams. Problem to Be Solved The team will be required to manage the technical implementation of the following: Migrate from 'Direct Access' to 'Always on VPN' Migrate OPManager to SolarWinds Migrate from SCCM to Intune Complete migration to new Azure supplier Complete implementation of hyper converged infrastructure It is expected that a team comprising of programme manager, two project managers and 3 technical resources (technical engineer / technical solution architecture) will be required to complete the work. Who Are the Users Mainly internal to IT - need assurance that the systems and infrastructure we manage ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data we hold. Early Market Engagement Programme has been defined, planned and is in delivery. Procurement activity for Azure support and Hyper Converged Infrastructure is nearing completion. Work Already Done Projects are planned and in progress with significant procurement already largely completed for Azure support and Hyper Converged Infrastructure. Existing Team The team will work with the existing IT infrastructure team and key suppliers (for which procurement is currently underway). Other resources in specialist functions (e.g. finance and procurement) will also contribute and support where required. Current Phase Not applicable Skills & Experience • Project/ programme managers with experience leading projects which involve data centre and cloud migration • Project/ programme managers with experience of the full project life cycle from business case definition, through to transition to business as usual • Project/ programme managers with experience of the governance and procurement arrangements in Local Government • Project/ programme managers with business and technical analysis skills • Project/ programme managers with experience of Team Leadership & Team Management including Matrix and Resource Management • Project/ programe managers wih experience of delivering Applications / Servers / Technology Refreshes • Project/ programe managers with Cloud Service Provider exposure and management experience • Hyper Converged Infrastructure solution analysis, procurement, management and migration • Technical resources with experience of SCCM to Intune migration • Technical resources with experience of High level and low level design creation • Technical resources with experience of on-Premise Microsoft Application migration to Azure Cloud • Technical resources with experience of Cloud services, Office 365, Azure AD • Technical resources with skills to evaluate multiple options and produce options analysis • Technical resources with experience of producing low and high level architecture solution designs • Technical resources with experience of WAN and LAN technologies • Technical resources with extensive experience of delivering Azure projects - storage, firewalls • Technical resources with experience of application and migration project delivery Nice to Haves • Project/ programme managers with extensive project and programme management qualifications including Prince2, MSP, APMP • Have technical resources with ITIL qualifications • Have experience of managing complex technical projects with a team which is based remotely. • Have certified technical resources e.g. Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (Cloud Platform and Infrastructure), Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist • Have TOGAF certified technical resources • Have technical resources with Microsoft Azure qualifications - 70-534 Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions and 70-533 Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions Work Location The IT Team for London Borough of Redbridge is based at Lynton House, Ilford. However the majority of the team are working from home due to Covid-19 and this role would be expected to do the same. Working Arrangments Working remotely from home due to Covid 19. Occasional requirement to be onsite to collect/return IT equipment.
