NNL is co-ordinating the design, manufacture and installation of the experimental rig and is looking for a support to: • produce a concept design and demonstrate proof of concept for a measurement system; • design, manufacture and provide training and operational support for a measurement system compatible with the facility requirements. NNL is co-ordinating the design, manufacture and installation of the experimental rig and is looking for a support to: • produce a concept design and demonstrate proof of concept for a measurement system; • design, manufacture and provide training and operational support for a measurement system compatible with the facility requirements (stages 2-4). This scope section is split into two categories: • scope of activities: — the tasks the winning bidder is expected to undertake; • scope of supply: — the specific pieces of equipment that the winning bidder is expected to supply as part of these activities. While the supplier is expected to address all aspects of the mandatory scope, NNL understand that the suppliers may not be familiar with the challenges of carrying out operations in a hot cell facility. Consequently, NNL expect to work with the winning bidder to ensure that the final design is fit for integration into the shielded facility. During preparation for the concept demonstration, NNL will facilitate the winning bidder visiting NNL’s inactive, mock hot cell at their Workington facility to demonstrate the use of MSMs. It is NNL’s expectation that the winning bidder will have been given all the necessary information to complete a suitable design by the time the proof of concept demonstration has been completed; however, NNL will continue to engage with the supplier in the design, providing guidance as required, throughout the design process
