Specialist Conservation Repair Contractors

Tender description

Southampton City Council invites applications from suitably experienced conservation repair specialists to carry out repairs/replacement to the Civic Centre clock tower, a Grade II* listed building. Works will comprise repairs to the copper roof, stonework and timber louvres and refurbishment of the steel windows. The contractor is to act as Main Contractor for the aforementioned specialist works. Contractors who can carry out this work in whole or in part will be considered. A minimum of three and a maximum of eight tenderers will be invited to tender for the works. The deadline for the submission of the pre-qualification questionnaire is the 18th of February 2014, 12 o’clock midday. The proposed contractor will be required to have a flexible and constructive approach to undertaking the repairs due to the nature of the building. The scope of the works may alter as the project progresses and investigations proceed.
