Universal Business Support Service 2021-2024 In order to provide support for local entrepreneurs and established Small and Medium sized enterprises (SMEs), B&NES Council has been working with the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) to design a package and pathway of support for businesses in the West of England. The programme is part-funded by the WECA Productivity Challenge, Universal Business Support Service (UBS). The aim of the B&NES UBS service is to provide quality and practical cross sector business support to new, established and early growth B&NES based SMEs, as well as those residents considering setting up a business (pre-starts). Where possible, support will be specific to each individual business (bespoke) enabling them to overcome challenges, move towards achieving business aspirations and develop business skills. This will be an agile service which is able to react quickly to the changing needs of the businesses it aims to support as well as political, economic, social and environmental factors. All four Local Authorities in the West of England is a delivery partner and is procuring its own business support service. Therefore, this invitation to tender relates to the B&NES UBS element of the region’s Growth Hub service.
