Tender description

This requirement is for the: — supply of fibre optic cable and associated components, — fibre network design, project management, and consultancy, — installation, termination, testing, and certification of fibre optic cable, — maintenance and support of fibre network. The framework agreement will be for a period of 2 years from commencement date. Open OJEU exercise Procurement timeline – published via the Chest portal on the 1.11.2019. Submission date 29.11.2019. Tameside Council is working to not only develop the Tameside Digital Infrastructure, but also that of other north Manchester public bodies. This project is key to assisting the Council in delivering its objectives and commitments. To date, some 12 km of ducting have been installed and populated with fibre and a further 23 km are under construction. These include: — routes commissioned by Tameside MBC to connect centres, — routes similarly commissioned by Tameside Hospital, Pennine Care, Tameside College, and New Charter, to connect centres including data centres and DR centres, — a route between Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester city centre, jointly commissioned by Tameside MBC and Manchester City Council, — and a new loop connecting centres across Tameside commissioned by TMBC.
