Tender description

Zero Waste Scotland wishes to procure services for the provision of food and drink waste advice and support free of charge to businesses in Scotland. The service to be provided through this lot is intended to support businesses operating within Scotland’s hospitality and food service sectors establish baseline data in terms of current food and drink waste generation, identify opportunities to prevent (or reduce, where appropriate) this generation and realise cost and carbon savings and prepare case studies and guidance documents that can be used by other non-supported businesses to target similar improvement opportunities. Zero Waste Scotland anticipates the appointment of a single supplier (the ‘Framework Contractor’) to this lot. Key elements for delivery include: (a) onsite food and drink waste audits; (b) implementation support; (c) information gathering for case studies and guidance documents. The service to be provided through this lot is intended to target staff behaviour within a supported business, which is a common barrier to preventing food and drink waste, by providing specialist support to create staff training materials and behaviour change interventions that will positively influence staff within those businesses to reduce food and drink waste. This includes preparation of case studies and guidance documents that can be used alongside or to promote the previously developed training and awareness collateral by non-supported businesses to achieve similar behavioural change. Zero Waste Scotland anticipates the appointment of a single supplier (the ‘Framework Contractor’) to this lot. Key elements for delivery include: (a) bespoke in-house training courses; (b) behaviour change techniques and tactics; (c) information gathering for case studies and guidance documents.
