Tender description

Drug and Alcohol testing service provides screening for drug and alcohol use by completing hair strand tests on parents who are involved in care proceedings and who have been referred by social workers. The tests provide evidence of a parent's substance misuse or abstinence over a long-term period (typically three months or more) and it enables reliable and fact-based decisions to be made over the protection, health and well-being of affected children. The DNA testing service is required to determine the parentage of a child/children or identify other blood relatives to inform decision making in child in need, child protection and court proceedings
