Tender description
Peel Ports Investments Ltd is seeking to undertake market research in the area of Mobile Dock Handling Hoppers. The information which is required is: — general product information for a typical implementation (marketing materials, general arrangement drawings, assembly guides and data sheets); — key considerations for variations to the design; — budgetary indicative costs; — typical lead times. Incoming biomass material will be discharged from ships by grab. The grab will discharge into the mobile dock handling hopper. The hopper will be used to load road going vehicles. The outline specification is as follows: — the design, supply, installation, commissioning and hand over of a hopper as described below; — the control of the flow of material from the hopper to the vehicle should be achieved by the use of hydraulically operated clam shell doors. Hydraulic power should be provided via a Diesel Hydraulic Power Unit; — the dimensions of the hopper should be approximately: 8.5 m long x 8.5 m wide at the top opening. The hopper should be approximately 10.4 m high when in the operating position. The height to the underside of the outlet should be 4 m. The hopper should be designed to handle a variety of material with bulk densities up to 1200 kg/m3; — the hopper should incorporate wheels to allow movement on the quayside; — design should take due consideration of the ATEX environment which will exist above and below the hopper when potentially explosive dust clouds are created by the discharge from the crane and the filling of the lorry; — the scope of supply should include the hoppers, support structures, cladding, hydraulic systems, diesel engines and wheels; — the structure/hopper should be grit blasted and painted using a method suitable for a life of ten years prior to first maintenance; — suitable lighting for control cabin, traffic lighting controlling access to the loading area and appropriate lighting for the loading area itself. This notice is for market research purposes only on behalf of a Peel Ports client. Respondents should anticipate that any documentation sent in response to this notice will be shared with Peel Ports client. It is not intended that Peel Ports will post a contract notice for this opportunity. The deadline for response to this PIN is 7 December 2020 at 12.00.
