Tender description

To provide GIS and database management in support of plant health strategies in England. This will include the provision and management of geospatial and cloud-based technologies to capture and model infestation data in near real-time and providing wider research support to Forestry Commission’s (FC) response teams. This will include the provision and management of geospatial and cloud-based technologies to capture and model infestation data in near real-time and providing wider research support to Forestry Commission’s (FC) response teams. The work may include working directly for the Forestry Commission, the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), an executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), or other Government Department. Suppliers will be directly approached by the relevant agency for services under this framework agreement. Forestry Commission has a requirement for research and data management support to assist with maintenance and further development of existing Oak Access databases and GIS spatial data management systems. This will involve converting data into GIS format, creation of additional reports and data collection forms and may also include upgrading existing databases in line with FC requirements.
