Supply and Installation of Fire-Stopping and Fire Barriers to Ceiling Void

Tender description

The Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Supplier to supply and install fire-stopping and fire barriers to ceiling void at Corby Innovation Hub, as per recommendations in the Fire Risk Assessment (FRA). Fire-stopping and fire barriers to be supplied and fitted to ceiling void as per the FRA. The aim of compartmentation is to inhibit rapid fire spread within the building by reducing the fuel available in the initial stages of a fire. The intention is to limit the severity of the fire, which in turn should help occupants to evacuate the building, and assist Fire and Rescue service personnel with fire-fighting and rescue operations. This is achieved by dividing the building into a series of tight boxes, termed compartments, which form a barrier to the products of combustion, smoke, heat and toxic gases.
