Tender description
Network Rail has carried out a procurement process in accordance with the negotiated procedure with prior call for competition under the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 to appoint three (3) contractors onto a framework agreement to deliver direct current works across Kent and Sussex routes. Contractors shall act as the principal contractor/designer as defined under CDM 2015. Terms and Conditions are under NR4(MT) for a duration of 4 years with the option to extend by up to 4 years (2 + 1 + 1). This is a nil-value framework, however, the total anticipated spend across the three contractors is GBP 48 000 000 for the framework term when including for the optional extension periods. Under the framework agreement, contractors are to supply all resources required to deliver a defined scope of works. The contractors shall be responsible for all necessary arrangements for any electrical isolations, in order to undertake site surveys and installations. The type of works include (but is not limited to): DC lug replacement and associated works, including renewal/refurbishment of cable routes, DC and Low Voltage (LV) cable renewal works at various substations, electrical traction equipment cable renewals, conductor rail renewals, insulator pot replacement, removal of conductor rail side ramps, negative bonding reinforcement, substation and TP hut earthing, controlled track switch and track isolating switch installation, shore supplies and electrical track equipment/maintenance minor works/refurbishment. Designs may be required (but not limited to): new conductor rail layout and negative bonding layout, electrical track equipment reinforcement, gapping studies, shore supplies and compatibility studies.
