Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Services (HMCTS) Estate intends to procure a contract for Plexiglass and Polycarbonate screens, with an estimated value of GBP 2 million, to enable juries to perform their functions during trials while sitting closer than the 2 m safe-distancing guidelines of Public Health England, Wales and Scotland. The screens enable clear visibility and audibility for hearings in court rooms without the need for the juror to wear face coverings, and to retire to a room where they can discuss the case but be seated within 2 m of each other. There is also a need for the screens to separate defendants and advocates in courts when social distancing is not possible. There is also a need for the screens to separate defendants and advocates in courts when social distancing is not possible. The full requirement will include: • undertaking site surveys to define site specific requirements; • manufacture, delivery and installation of both plexiglass and polycarbonate screens; • coordinate and deliver the solution from survey to installation within a 3 to 4-week time frame; • delivery of the solution across England and Wales; • ability to manufacture of 400 screens per week. In responding to this PIN, any potential supplier is indicating their ability to meet these high-level requirements. It is the intention of HMCTS to award two nonexclusive contracts. These contracts will be available for use by the wider Ministry of Justice. There will be no minimum commitment of spend through this contract. Please note this PIN is purely for information only and does not automatically enrol suppliers to a future tender opportunity. This exercise is not part of any pre-qualification or selection process. It is intended as an awareness, communication and information-gathering exercise offering an opportunity for potential providers to help understand commissioning intentions.
