Preliminary Activities • Attend briefing meetings with officers of the council in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the requirements and all key factors pertaining to the appointment, including reviewing the job profiles. • Provide advice on how, when and where to source suitable candidates, including the appropriate approach to advertising the post, establishing appropriate remuneration levels, etc. • Plan the recruitment process. • Draft and finalise any publicity material for the post, including the development of a micro-site. Candidate Search • Managing job advertising and publicity in all relevant and agreed media, if appropriate. • Issuing documentation to prospective candidates, and receiving completed applications • Conducting targeted search, using appropriate contacts, databases and methodologies to stimulate response from suitable prospective candidates. • Provide the council with a weekly report on the progress of the search, reporting any issues or feedback from candidates about the post.
