Tender description

Upgrade of the thermal hydrolysis plant stream 3 at Ringsend WwTP. The Sludge Line Enhancement (SLE) project is part of the overall upgrade programme to improve the performance of the Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant. The SLE project is the upgrade works required to the sludge line at Ringsend to cater for the increased volumes of sludge that will be generated due to the improved treatment performance and the increased flows that will be entering the plant. To cater for the increased volumes of sludge in the existing sludge lines the existing thermal hydrolysis plant (THP) will need to be upgraded. Thermal Hydrolysis is a process technology applied in wastewater treatment plants to treat sludge. Thermal hydrolysis exposes the sludge to high temperature and pressure to break down and kill off pathogens in the sludge. Thermal hydrolysis minimises the amount of end product that is fed to the anaerobic digesters. The works will increase the sludge throughput capacity to handle the increased volumes of sludge that will be generated at Ringsend. The end date for this contract will be 31 December 2024.
