Repair and maintenance services

Tender description

East Ayrshire Council require a service provider to deliver a care and repair service to assist homeowners and private sector tenants to arrange major adaptations and provider other services. The aim is to enable older and disabled people to repair, maintain or adapt their home and support independent living. The contract will be in place for 3 years with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years thereafter. It is anticipated that the successful bidder will provide the following services to eligible service users: — provide general advice on repairs, improvements and adaptations, — assist services users to access available grant funding for adaptations, — recommend appropriately vetted local tradesmen to complete the required works, — help getting competitive estimates for work, organising building work and providing support during building work (for example, dealing with contractors), — inspecting work carried out, — small repairs (like putting up shelves), — handyperson services (like replacing light bulbs or unblocking sinks).
