Tender description
Health Education England is commissioning training for peer support workers and peer support worker supervisors, to start in February 2021. This will support development of skills and competencies of those acting as Peer Support Workers (either employed or voluntary) to deliver safe and effective care and support to service users within a multidisciplinary mental health environment across 7 regions, which are: Lot 1: North East and Yorkshire, Lot 2: North West, Lot 3: East of England, Lot 4: London, Lot 5: Midlands, Lot 6: South East, Lot 7: South West. HEE are looking for effective partnerships which will offer PSWs and PSW supervisors vocational education opportunities. This will require close partnership between employers and education providers along with co-production of course design and delivery. To fit with the key principles of PSW it is essential that the training design will include lived experience, and the delivery of training will be either lead or co-led by people with relevant lived experience. The maximum numbers of providers to be awarded per lot is 5, (subject to minimum criteria): Lot 1: maximum of five providers, Lot 2: maximum of five providers, Lot 3: maximum of five providers, Lot 5: maximum of five providers, Lot 6: maximum of five providers, Lot 7: maximum of five providers. The contract value is GBP 2 725 000 which includes infrastructure costs for 3 years and training demand for year 1. Training costs for years 2 and 3 will be added to the contract price once demand has been established. Tuition and Training costs for each Lot are fixed. All costs are inclusive of VAT. The contract will commence on the 19 February 2021 until 31 March 2023 and the commissioner reserves the option to extend by a further 1 year, subject to annual review and budget.
