Tender description

The opportunity to undertake groundworks remedial works and complete a new-build housing development that has been commenced by another contractor no longer able to complete the works. The scheme will provide 71 units for housing at Halton Court, Runcorn, WA7 5XS. Magenta intends to enter into a works contract (‘the Contract’) with Anwyl Construction Company Ltd. The Contract concerns urgent groundworks to be completed at the site including to make safe large spoils of soil at immediate risk of landslip, removing and replacing failed gabion retaining walls and making good unsupported roof trusses that pose immediate health and safety issues on site before completing the remainder of the development of 71 housing units. This work is urgently required by Magenta on account of the unforeseeable insolvency of the outgoing contractor and interim remedial works that have not fully addressed the immediate health and safety issues that exist on site and is to be undertaken in accordance with advice received by Magenta’s consulting structural engineers.
