The London Borough of Hounslow (LBH) require a single, harmonised Education system to deliver fast, secure access to a cohesive set of data and documents which will offer a ‘single version of the truth’ about the children and their education needs. Information should be held once across the platform which will be shared across services. This will be managed using sound information governance principles that balance transparency with confidentiality, giving our customers increased confidence to trust us with their data which will support the vision. Digital service delivery must be available for Education and supporting services and will enable online transactional services for customers who will be able to tailor services to reflect their own needs. We are looking to enable our residents to be more self-serving and remove dependencies on staff to enable flexible working and joined up working within the solution provided. One of the aims of the authority is to reduce the amount of software required to carry out day to day tasks ideally in an all-in-one ecosystem that reduces data silos and enables departments to work together and share data easily. This will reduce inefficiencies with the current system and help improve service delivery. There should be a focus on improving service delivery and customer satisfaction by providing a solution that enables an intuitive end to end solution from the child at nursery to through their academic years allowing departments and schools to view the child’s journey through their academic life. Enabling the authority to use the management information provided by the new system to help design future services for the authority’s children/families and schools.
