Tender description
The structured illumination microscope with TIRF is to be purchased by the Centre of Membrane Proteins and Receptors (COMPARE), UoB. The system will be housed in the dedicated COMPARE imaging facility. The specifications outline the requirements for: A single Molecule localisation microscope, which must be capable of performing multicolour, 2D and 3D single-molecule localisation microscopy (SMLM) as well as TIRF, widefield epifluorescence and brightfield microscopy. The system must also be capable of structured illumination microscopy (SIM). The system should be stable and have a small enough footprint that an optical table is not required. The system must also be capable of Structured Illumination Microscopy (SIM). The system should be stable and have a small enough footprint that an optical table is not required. Based on our estimations and requirements, we have defined a set of minimal specifications, which are detailed in the questionnaire. These specifications should be considered as a guide in the design of the microscope, the ultimate goal being represented by the achievement of the above-mentioned measurements. The supplier must be able to demonstrate what built-in features the instrument has in this respect and be able to demonstrate its effectiveness. The supplier shall respond to each numbered paragraph of this specification, describing in detail the method of compliance or otherwise. A reliable service package is required to ensure the full upkeep and efficiency of the product. This can range from service care contracts for durations after installation to warranties for equipment and what they include. This also will include all technical support and training as well as potential application requirements in the future. The suppliers will agree to provide operational support for the duration of the paid for service contract.
