This prior information notice is to notify the market that the Shared Rural Network programme plans to enter into a pre-market engagement exercise for total not spots with potential suppliers in the market of provision of acquisition, design, build services and products for telecoms mast base station sites (including upgrades, NTQ management or decommissioning thereof), along with supporting services, to assist the contracting authority in developing its procurement strategy for the supply of these elements and to help inform the technical and service elements to support that strategy. This prior information notice is to notify the market that the Shared Rural Network Programme (SRN) plans to enter into a market engagement exercise for total not spots to discuss its potential requirements with potential suppliers in the market of provision of acquisition, design, build services and products for telecoms mast base station sites (including upgrades, NTQ management or decommissioning thereof) to assist the contracting authority in developing its procurement strategy for the supply of these elements and to help inform the technical and service elements to support that strategy. The market engagement exercise does not form part of the potential procurement process or obligate the authority into forming a commercial strategy in a particular form. The total not spots element of SRN will use public funds to build new mobile sites offering 4G services from all UK mobile operators. These sites will deliver mobile coverage to areas of the UK that currently have no 4G coverage from any operator (Total Not Spots). SRN will deliver reliable mobile broadband to 95 % of the UK by 2025, addressing the digital divide by improving 4G coverage in the areas that need it most.
