Tender description
***THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION*** This is a PIN notice for a UK Research and Innovation requirement. The route to market will be via RM6018 Research Marketplace DPS. This is a PIN notice for an event for UK Research and Innovation who have a requirement for Evaluation works as part of their Low Cost Nuclear ISCF Challenge . The UKRI Board are committed to collecting evidence to understand the impacts of the Industrial Challenge Strategy Fund (ISCF) Low Cost Nuclear (LCN) Challenge. The Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund is part of the Government's Industrial Strategy, the long-term plan to raise productivity and earning power in the UK. The fund is a core pillar on the Government's commitment to increase funding in research and development by £4.7billion over 4 years to strengthen UK science and business. It will invest in the world-leading research base and highly innovative businesses to address the biggest industrial and societal challenges today. The ISCF aims to improve the performance of our whole science and innovation system and is essential to realise the R&D ambitions of the Industrial Strategy. The Low Cost Nuclear Challenge aims to support the delivery of a new type of nuclear power plant. The ultimate goal of this challenge is to facilitate the development of a power station product which can be rolled out to multiple UK locations in the early 2030s using a factory centred assembly approach and avoiding the requirement to consider every new nuclear project as a bespoke prospect. The product is expected to make a significant contribution to the UK's zero carbon ambitions. There are two key strands to the work required, • Production of the challenge specific evaluation framework and status overview on work performed to date • Data collation of baseline benefits and evaluation measures This notice is to inform of an Engagement Day for potential bidders ahead of a tender being issued. This Engagement Day will take place via Zoom Video Conferencing with the details provided further down this notice, on Monday 14th September 2020 at 09:00 (GMT). The agenda for the Morning: The agenda will be: • Introduction • Overview of the programme • Evaluation Expectations • Procurement Process Overview • Q&A
