NHSBT1265/S/SP Cleaning and Ancillary Services in the South Region

Tender description

Provision of cleaning and ancillary services which will include reactive and adhoc tasks (the Service Provider will also be expected to provide support in emergency situations when required) to regional blood centre properties consisting of principal sites,other minor satellite sites and remote office locations within the region comprising of Offices, Donor Suites, Warehouses and Blood Collection Team Base building locations. A key element of the contract is ensuring that NHS Blood and Transplant remains compliant with statutory and legal requirements and with working to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). GMP is the term used to indicate enhanced working regimes operating around a Donor Centre / blood production / processing / storage area where particular levels of cleanliness and care are needed to avoid impact of any kind on the core activity of the organisation which in turn could affect patient lives. Cleaning and ancillary services within NHS Blood and Transplant's premises gives a suitable environment for the Products and Services which relate to both MHRA and GMP requirements, together with the more general requirements for both Operative and the public. Compliance with such stringent requirements includes a high degree of regulation, conformance with procedures, and provision of a full audit trail. The Service Provider will provide Operatives for Cleaning and Ancillary services to meet the specification provided, with the understanding that business levels may change, and adjustments may be required for both increases and decreases in service provision over the contract period. The Service Provider will not be limited in their ability to be innovative and to deliver a quality service with demonstrated value for money benefits. As a public service, NHS Blood and Transplant is mindful of cost and is looking for the Service Provider to provide an efficient and cost-effective service.
